Abby Fried
Director of Operations
Abby comes to the team after working for over a decade in the rock climbing industry. Working with children and adults alike, she created the role of Youth Program Director and became the Events Director of a local climbing gym, helping create programs and open gyms in 5 locations.
Her passion is creating community, and is thrilled to be working in her own Queens community at QBK! Abby is excited about continuing the growth of beach volleyball in NYC, and creating a home base for all of QBK's beach volleyball players.
Connor Keowen
Head Volleyball Coach
With a strong background in coaching and a passion for the beach game, Connor brings a wealth of experience and expertise to QBK. A former student-athlete, he played libero for NYU from 2016-2020, but always knew his passion was beach.
Starting before he graduated high school, Connor developed his approach to the sport through coaching beach and indoor programs, and brings over a decade of experience to QBK. His coaching philosophy emphasizes a rigorous approach to player development, combining precise fundamentals with holistic conditioning.
Having played and coached at a high level, Connor understands the unique challenges and demands of beach volleyball - especially in a city like NYC.
When he’s not coaching, you can find Connor competing in tournaments, running in some of the many NYC-based races, and writing about himself in the third-person.
Leon Dubov
Founder and CEO
Leon is an investor in public and private markets. He has been an Entrepreneur from an early age and is passionate about bringing sports to people. His love of volleyball led him to found QBK Sports to fill a need for an awesome beach volleyball experience in the heart of NYC.
